The format of training in the 2021−2022 academic year for all DKU students

Dear DKU students!

We inform you that the educational process for all bachelor's and master's courses in the autumn semester of the 2021−2022 academic year starts in an online format with a transition to the traditional format after two weeks.

We remind you that the traditional format of training involves:

  • lectures — online with the use of LMS-systems of the university;
  • seminar / practical / laboratory classes-offline in educational buildings in compliance with the norms of the sanitary and epidemiological regime;
  • physical education class-offline.

The beginning of theoretical training

  • for students of the 1st, 2nd year of bachelor's degree and 1st year of master's degree-from September 6, 2021 in an online format, with the transition to the traditional format from September 20, 2021.
  • for students of the 3rd and 4th courses and the 2nd year of the master's degree — from September 1, 2021 in an online format, with the transition to the traditional format from September 13, 2021.

Introductory session

From September 1 to 3, 2021, it is planned to conduct an introductory session for students of the 1st, 2nd year of bachelor's degree and 1st year of master's degree.

The format of the introductrory meeting is online.

When entering the academic buildings, it is mandatory to use the Ashyq application. Please note that students who have a «green» or «blue» status in software products and information platforms when scanning a special QR code are allowed to enter the academic buildings.

During the period of being in the classrooms during classes, with the exception of physical education classes, strict compliance with the mask regime is necessary.


Distance learning is allowed for students who are at risk (pregnant, nursing, etc.) on the basis of the conclusion of the attending physician, and foreign students who are waiting for a visa abroad when submitting an application with supporting documents.

The application template for at-risk students and international students can be downloaded HERE. Scans of completed applications must be sent with supporting documents to the email address studoffice@dku.kz until September 1, 2021.


Taking into account the epidemiological situation in the city of Almaty the training format may change.

We recommend that you follow our updates and regularly check your email addresses to which mailing lists from the university are sent.

We remind you that students must undergo the vaccination procedure against COVID-19 by August 31, 2021.
