Actual DAAD project

DAAD project «Strengthening the competence, cooperation and visibility of DKU»

Since 2007, the German-Kazakh University (DKU) has been financed by the German Academic Exchange Services (DAAD) from funds offered by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs within the scope of various projects. The aim of the project office is to support the DKU in its development and to ensure good cooperation between the DKU and its partners in Germany. The project is called University of Applied Sciences Schmalkalden is a Project Management Agency and the head office of the project, which works in a close cooperation with the project office in Kazakhstan.

Tasks of the project

  • searching for German guest lecturers (Flying Faculty) for teaching at DKU, planning and organizing their assignments;
  • invitation students from German universities to the DKU as part of the program «Study modules in Central Asia»;
  • development of study programs in cooperation with German partners;
  • preparation of meetings of the university consortium in terms of content and organization;
  • networking and development of public relations of the DKU in Germany and Central Asia;
  • providing scholarships for students at the DKU and for students coming to Germany in the framework of exchange study programs;
  • organization of intensive language courses for students and staff at DKU;
  • providing organizational and financial support for the conduct of annual International Summer University at DKU;
  • providing financial support for the implementation of the discussion platform «DKU Talks».
