On September 23, the first event «DKU meets business» was held at DKU

On September 23, A meeting with representatives of international and European companies in Kazakhstan «DKU meets business« was held at the DKU Event Forum of the Kazakh-German University.

This event opened the series of meetings aimed at connecting students and graduates of our university with companies that could become employers for them. Such events are also necessary to introduce the parties to each other at an early stage of potential cooperation and to find out what skills and knowledge graduates will need to succeed in international arena.

It is important for Kazakh-German University to make timely conceptual changes and adapt our educational programs to meet the requirements of today's ever-changing economy. This is why we want to find out what skills and qualities are in demand in the labor market in order to provide our graduates with excellent starting positions.

We want DKU graduates to occupy key positions in the competition for prestigious jobs. On the other hand, it is important for us to communicate to companies what skills and knowledge DKU, as an academic institution, considers necessary for the intellectual development of young people to become responsible members of modern society.

The meeting started with welcome speech from Dr. Gabriele Stauner, President of the DKU. In her speech, Dr. Gabriele Stauner noted the leading positions of DKU educational programs and the 5th place of DKU in the TOP-10 leading universities of Kazakhstan in the rating of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan «Atameken» for 2020 (for more details, click HERE).

The event was moderated by the head of the Delegation of the German Economic Union in Central Asia — Hovsep Voskanyan.

Further on the program the following participants and representatives of international companies briefly talked about their companies and their success stories, and answered questions from students, faculty, and stakeholders.

  • Andrey Rommel, Liebherr Kazakhstan Managing Director

  • Yulia Smirnova, Operations Manager, DHL Logistics Kazakhstan LLP

Kazakh-German University would like to thank Mr. Hovsep Voskanyan, Head of the Delegation of the German Economic Union in Central Asia, and Mr. Andrej Rommel from Liebherr Kazakhstan for jointly developing with us the idea of organizing a unique platform for business to meet students and alumni of our university.

We are confident that such meetings with representatives of international business will be able to have a significant impact on the choice of a suitable professional activity, in particular, for our students and graduates.
