We invite students to take part in the Media-CITY quiz

The Association of psychology, business and media invites students to participate in quiz as part of the Central Asian program MediaCAMP.

Project goal: to increase media literacy among students of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The relevance of the project: this project is relevant the fact that now in society there is a need to improve their media literacy. The lack of media literacy creates an information imbalance in the consumption of information: manipulation of citizens' minds, trusting rumors, spreading fake information, not being able to check (conduct fact checks), not being able to find reliable sources of information, etc. This is especially true for young people aged 15 to 25 years, since this audience uses the Internet and social networks a lot. At the same time, they are one of the most vulnerable to manipulation and information stuffing due to its immaturity and credulity. People need information on media and information literacy, but at the same time the young population of the country wants to receive information in an interesting, interactive and media form, as well as to combine «pleasant with useful» — learn in a playful way. Such training allows you to easily learn something and at the same time have a good and exciting time. These are the tasks that the media literacy quiz allows you to implement.

Quizzes are a popular format of intellectual games, as well as entertainment and pastime. This is a trend in the world of games! Quiz is an intellectual game in which people answer questions. The game is played in several rounds and many teams can participate in it at the same time. This game is aimed at thinking, speed of thought processes, logic, intuition, memory, attentiveness, analytical skills, imaginative thinking, erudition, education, outlook, as well as team interaction. Each city has, as a rule, several leagues of intellectual games. Every week, hundreds of people of different ages play quizzes and do it regularly. And even in ordinary quizzes, there are questions about the topic of media. And now we are making our own quiz on media literacy! In the media quiz, we include questions about MIG (media and information literacy), development of critical thinking and skills of independent work with information. It will be interesting, relevant, modern and in demand.
