The project of DKU «Disruptive technology and innovation challenge for landscape restoration in the Aral Sea region (Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan)»

Have you ever participated in a conference with 200,000 participants from 185 countries?

This has now become possible with an online format.

On October 29, 2020, the Kazakh-German University presented the project «Disruptive technology and innovation challenge for landscape restoration in the Aral Sea region (Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan)» at the digital exhibition organized as a part of the international online GLF Biodiversity Digital Conference: One World — One Health.

The Conference brought together both young people and experienced experts from around the world. Despite the online format, the conference allowed participants not only to share knowledge, but also to discuss thematic questions with other participants on the following topics:

— Financial incentives for a biodiversity-friendly future,

— Landscape biodiversity for healthy people and healthy economies,

— Protected areas in a post-COVID world,

— Mainstreaming biodiversity in the forest sector, etc.

Materials for the exhibition were provided by the Executive Board of the International Fund for saving the Aral Sea in the Republic of Kazakhstan

This Project is implemented with the support of the Central Asia Water and Energy Program (CAWEP), administered by the World Bank and financed by the European Union, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, and is part of the World Bank Resilient Landscape in Central Asia RESILAND CA + Program. The project is implemented by the Kazakh-German University (DKU) in partnership with the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF).
