Round table «Scaling up Tools for the Paris Agreement — Transparency, Markets & Compliance»

On June 22, a round table of experts on climate law and governance on «Scaling up Tools for the Paris Agreement — Transparency, Markets & Compliance» was held during the Bonn climate conference on the UN framework Convention on climate change.

The round table was devoted to the preparations for the international Symposium on Climate Law and Governance Day, to be held on 6 December in Santiago de Chile during CoP25, and to the consideration of efforts to enhance the implementation of the Paris Agreement. A special event of the Centre for international innovation management (CLGI) round table in Bonn brought together delegates, practitioners and researchers to help shape research, education and capacity-building programmes in climate law and governance.

Barbara Janusz-Pawletta, DKU Vice-Rector on international cooperation and Head of the UNESCO chair on Water Resources Management in Central Asia participated in online component of the round table report on «National contribution of Kazakhstan on the implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement» in session «Strengthening national action in the field of climate management, innovation and trends in the law and justice.»

The event was chaired by leading experts from the University of Cambridge and the University of Chile and coordinated by the climate law and governance Initiative in partnership with the Centre for international sustainable development law (CISDL), the Centre for international innovation governance (CIGI), the international law Association (ILA), the United Nations environment Program (UNEP).
