On May 16, 2020, DKU hosted Life Stream Open Day!

On May 16, 2020, the Kazakh-German University hosted Life Stream Open Day. The broadcast with applicants and their parents lasted 7.5 hours! Master classes from German associate professors, acquaintance with the faculties and departments of the University were very popular — more than 90 guests took part in the event.

The Open Day was moderated by Natalia Broslavskaya, Head of the DKU Internal and External Communications Department. It started with a brief announcement of the event's program. After that, welcome speech from the German side was made by Dr. Heinz-Peter Heller, Head of the DAAD project in DKU. He told the audience about the main advantages of studying at the Kazakh-German University.

From the Kazakh side, Assel Azhibayeva, Ph.D., DKU Acting Rector welcomed the guests and participants of the life stream. She spoke about DKU main achievements in the Kazakhstan educational market and outlined promising directions for the development of the University.

DKU's online conference was also attended by Aliya Narbekova — Admissions consultant, Yelena Asmus — Head of the International office, and Tatyana Kruglik — Head of the center for Pre-University and Professional training.

Deans of the faculties — Zhandos Kegenbekov, Faculty of Engineering and Information technology, Oksana Skapyak, Faculty of World Politics and Gulmira Sugirova, Faculty of Economics and Business, and leading lecturers of these units: Madina Shavdinov, Vyacheslav Khan, Gulmaidan Urozbaeva, Aliya Bayahmetova shared about the specialties in Kazakh-German University.

During the OPEN DAY, representatives of the Institute of Language Training and Certification at DKU also spoke. The Director of the Institute — Maria Bachurka told about her team and the specifics of the work. Olga Nefedova, German language instructor shared how training will take place for new students, beginners and continuing to learn German. Nigara Yergesheva, English language instructor held master class: «Life Hacks how to improve English level for the exam».

Master classes with DKU lecturers and professors from Germany aroused maximum interest among students who took part in an online meeting with the University. For example, Sergey Velesco, Professor of Applied Sciences at the University of Mittweide, gave a master class on international management. Natalia Broslavskaya, senior lecturer at the DKU Faculty of Economics and Business held a master class on «Marketing Trends 2020». Ralph Boze, Professor of computer science at the University of Schmalkalden spoke about the basics of computer graphics in his master class. In turn, Professor Jakob Lempp, from Hochschule Rhein Waal University, gave examples of «European integration in DKU"in his speech. Professor Sebastian Mayer gave a master class on security issues in the modern world.

In continuation of the online meeting with applicants, Nailya Saniyazova, Head of the DKU Career center, introduced the participants to the unique opportunities for professional development that graduates of the Kazakh-German University receive.

At the end of the conference, representatives of DKU students — Diana Loshitski, President of DKU Students Council STURA, and Iskander Temirtas, Head of the Ambassadors Club made speeches.

According to Dr. Heinz-Peter Heller, head of the DAAD project at DKU, the online meeting with applicants and their parents was held at a very high level.
