DKU Talks «The impact of the pandemic on the economies of Germany and Central Asia»

The spread of the Covid-19 affected economies of all countries. Everywhere there is a downturn in economic growth, rising unemployment, rising retail prices. All of this requires immediate decisions.

In this regard, the theme of our next DKU Talk, «The impact of the pandemic on the economies of Germany and Central Asia”, is very relevant.

As part of this meeting, we will meet with scientists and experts from Kyrgyzstan, Germany and Kazakhstan and talk about the impact of the pandemic on the economies of these countries.

Speakers will include:

• Roman Mogilevsky, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Director of the Institute of Public Administration and Policy at the University of Central Asia in Bishkek. Dr. Mogilevsky is the author of numerous scientific publications on regional cooperation and economic policy in Central Asia. In addition, he has extensive experience working as a consultant in various international organizations in Central Asia, such as the United Nations Development Program, the United Nations Children's Funds, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and the European Commission.

• Bodo Lohmann, Doctor of Economics, Professor of Kazakh-German University, past Vice-Rector for Science DKU. Dr. Lochman currently teaches economics at the University of Zittau in Germany and continues to teach economics at DKU as a visiting professor.

• Sergey Domnin is the author of a number of social and economic online and offline publications (Vox Populi, Capital KZ) and a well-known expert in many Kazakhstani and foreign media on issues of Eurasian integration, industrial development and trade policy. Until recently, he served as editor-in-chief of the business magazine «Expert Kazakhstan”.
