XVIII International Student PR-Conference «Lilac PR. Facing the Millennium of Communication!»

On April 23, 2021, the XVIII International Student PR Conference «Lilac PR. Facing the Millennium of communication!” was held. The event was organized by the Club of Kazakhstan PR-professionals PR-shy, Kazakh-German University and the National Association for Public Relations.

The competition is held to identify the creative potential and raise the professional level of PR students. For those who are interested in PR issues and the use of PR in various fields of activity and promotion of the profession of a public relations specialist in Kazakhstan.

The event started with the welcoming words of the organizers:

Tatiana Shevchenko — President of the PR-shy Club, Director of the Corporate Communications Service at VTB Bank Kazakhstan;

Laura Barysova — honorary member of the Club PR-shy, organizer of the conference «Lilac PRoryv»;

Nataliya Broslavskaya — honorary member of the PR-shy Club, Head of the Department of Internal and External Communications of the Kazakh-German University.

The program included presentations and projects of students of higher education institutions of Kazakhstan and Russian Federation: Kazakh-German University, Turan University, Bashkir State University, Abylai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages, International University of Information Technologies, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The works were presented in the following areas:

1. Innovative business communications.

2. Communication in social projects.

3. Communication in communities.

The projects were evaluated by leading experts, public relations professionals, and members of the PR club. Special attention was paid to the promotion of projects both offline with the use of marketing promotional tools, and online with the use of digital tools.

The Jury:

Tatiana Shevchenko, current President of the PR-shy club and Director of Corporate Communications at VTB Bank (Kazakhstan), a member of the VTB International Financial Group;

Aybar Olzhayev, Vice-president of the PR-shy club and Deputy Head of the External Communications Service at the Kazakhstan Sustainability Fund;

Assel Karaulova, Founder, honorary member and former President of the PR-shy club in 2005−2007, 2013−2015. President of the Kazakhstan Press Club, Managing Partner of PG Communications consulting agency, member of IPRA (International Public Relations Association), Chairman of the NASO Board, co-founder of the KIMEP Alumni Association;

Margarita Grigorieva, Honorary member of the Club, Vice-President of the PR-shy club 2014−2016, Executive Director of the National Association for Public Relations (NASO) of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

Saltanat Askerbekkyzy, Member of the PR-shy Astana club. Private PR consultant. Media Literacy Coach (Internews-Kazakhstan certificate). Public Speaking Coach (tedXastana coach). Business Coach (BCPD certificate).

· Master classes from leading PR specialists were also held for the participants of the event:

Special Prize: Catalog of online resources to help students studying the PR discipline — Tomiris Kopbaeva, Alyona Pavlenkova, Amina Abdraimova. Supervisor: Tokarchuk P. N., International University of Information Technologies.

The team of the Kazakhstani PR professionals club PR-shy will share with their contacts, ideas and invite students to a closed master class.
