DKU together with international organizations and foreign partners from the USA invite you to participate in the training seminar «Satellite precipitation assessment and applications for scientists and government officials in Central Asia»!

• Registration deadline: September 20, 2021.
• Date: from 27 to 30 September 2021.
• Time: from 09:30 to 13:00 Almaty time.
• Format: online.
• Languages: the webinar will be held in English with a translation into Russian.

You are expected:

• ︎8 lectures from the Center for Hydrometeorology & Remote Sensing (CHRS);
• ︎3 laboratory sessions;
• group presentations (you can find the topics in the carousel of the post).

Objectives of the training seminar:

• to train participants in the skills and methods of using products of the PERSIANN family (The Anticipation Estimation from Remotely Sensed Information using Artificial Neural Networks), including the iRain system for climate risk management;
• to develop the participants' knowledge and skills of using iRain for monitoring, analysis and improving resistance to weather conditions;
• to familiarize participants with platforms and data portals for PERSIANN-data,
• to expand interaction and cooperation between technical specialists and scientists in the Central Asian region, in the field of weather and climate monitoring.

Upon completion of the training seminar, the participants will receive certificates without fail.
