The scientific conference «30 years of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and China» was held at DKU

Last Thursday, December 23, 2021, a scientific conference «30 years of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People's Republic of China: from formation to strategic partnership» was held.

The event was held in a combined format: offline with a limited number of participants and online on the ZOOM platform.

The organizers were: Research Institute of International and Regional Cooperation of the Kazakh-German University (NIIMiRS DKU), Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Almaty and the Expert Club «One Belt and one Way».

During the conference, issues of improving Kazakh-Chinese cooperation in political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were touched upon.

Opening of the conference:

  • B.K. Sultanov — Director of Research Institute for International and Regional Cooperation DKU, Chairman of the Board of the EC «One Belt and One Way».

  • Volrad Rommel — the President of the Kazakh-German University.

  • A.Zh Shokybayev — Head of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty.

Welcome speech and presentation:

  • Ms. Jiang Wei is the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Almaty.

Speakers at the conference:

  • B.K. Sultanov — Director of Research Institute for International and Regional Cooperation DKU, Chairman of the Board of the EC «One Belt and One Way».

  • K.S. Hafizova — member of the Board of the EC «One Belt and One Way», chief researcher of the «Center for Rapprochement of Cultures» of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

  • D.T. Zhakenov — expert of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan in Almaty.

  • A.S. Kaukenov is a member of the Board of the EC «One Belt and One Road», Director of the Center for Chinese Studies «China Center».

  • S.B. Kozhirova — Head of the Center for Chinese and Asian Studies of the Astana International Scientific Complex (Astana Nur-Sultan).

  • A.M. Amrebayev — Director of the Center for Political Studies of the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

  • A.B. Bugayenko — Head of the Asian Studies Program, Eurasian Association of International Studies.

  • V.Yu. Dodonov is the chief researcher of the KISI at The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

  • T.V. Kaukenova is a leading expert at the China Center for Chinese Studies.
