Dear friends, a series of events of the Kazakh-German University together with the Goethe Institute @goetheinstitut_kasachstan continues tomorrow was too late // #heute #bugin #today, dedicated to various aspects of the topic «Environmental protection and sustainability». We invite you to the second meeting on the topic: «Progress and Alienation».

  • Location: MERCURE ALMATY CITY CENTER, Tien Shan Conference Hall, 53 Abylai Khan Avenue. «Society is developing. We often talk about progress. But what is progress? And does it make us happier? Shouldn't the goal of any social development be „happiness for everyone“? an we influence this? Or is the „system“ so strong that we are helpless before its power? We want to talk about what exactly we, individually, can do in order not to lose our human essence. What can we do against alienation from our roots? How can society become a community again? And how will we find happiness …» — says Dagmar Schreiber. In the 1980s, she studied philosophy in Leningrad and Moscow, and then worked in the field of sociology, tourism and environmental protection, and since 1994 also in Kazakhstan.
