Teachers from Central Asia received intensive online training from EU experts on environmental economics

32 lecturers from Central Asia participated in 3 weeks of intensive online training with European and regional experts.

Lectures were held as part of the Academy for Environmental Economics (ASEE) in the following areas:

  • Environmental Economics.
  • Sustainable development.
  • Closed-cycle economics.
  • Ecosystem services.
  • Case studies from the EU and Central Asia.

ASEE was created on the basis of Kazakh-German University in order to share EU and Central Asian experience and knowledge in the field of green finance, innovative economic tools and incentives to achieve the ambitious goals of the circular economy.

At the online ceremony to present certificates to ASEE participants, Mrs. Barbara Janusz-Pawletta, DKU Vice Rector on International Cooperation, mentioned the importance of promoting and developing such educational activities among professors and lecturers from Central Asia, in particular the exchange of experiences and cooperation between practitioners from Europe and the Central Asian region.

ASEE was organised with the support of the EU-funded WECOOP project.
