Student Olympiad Sustainable Development Goals in Central Asia

Center for Resources and DKU, in cooperation with the CAY4W network, begins preparations for the SDG Olympiad at the national level.

The regional (country) stages of the competition will be held this spring at partner universities in Central Asia and Afghanistan with the financial support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific.

Advantages of the Olympiad:

  • Participants will get acquainted with the practical IWRM tools developed by the GWP, as well as mechanisms and levers for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals 2, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13 and 17.

  • Young specialists of Central Asia will have the opportunity to communicate with each other and with colleagues from other countries in a language that is understandable to everyone — the language of progress and professionalism.

Olympiad Topics:

  • Landscape Management (SDG 2).
  • Integrated Water Resources Management (SDG 6).
  • Climate change and clean energy (SDGs 7 and 13).
  • Industrialization, innovation and infrastructure (SDG 9).
  • Sustainability of cities and human settlements (SDG 11).
  • Partnership for Sustainable Development (SDG 17).
  • The questions are designed for students of the 4th year of bachelor's degree and the 1st year of master's degree, but if you are confident in your knowledge, everyone is allowed to participate.
