Open air screening of feature films by German directors

Since June 9, the Kazakh-German University together with the Goethe Institute in Kazakhstan has opened a series of film screenings of feature films by German directors in the open air in the cultural courtyard. The Vice-rector for International Cooperation of DKU, Barbara Janusz-Pavletta, and the director of the Goethe-Institute, Friederike van Stephaudt, made a welcoming speech to our guests. The first film that was shown to the Almaty audience during the screenings was the film «Ich und Kaminski», directed by Wolfgang Becker, released in 2015. It tells about how a young journalist decided to write an article about the artist Manuel Kaminsky and what important events occurred in the lives of the heroes thanks to their acquaintance. The audience highly appreciated the picture and the organization of the event, expressing the hope that now such film evening will be held on a regular basis. The representative of the Kazakh-German University, Barbara Janusz-Pavletta, assured in her video message that our university will do everything possible to make the courtyard at DKU become the center of German culture in Almaty.
