NEXUS Business Game held in Tajikistan

A training for civil servants of the Republic of Tajikistan on the topic «NEXUS: interaction of water, energy, food and ecosystem resources» was held in Dushanbe.

The training was organized by the Kazakh-German University with the support of the USAID regional project on water resources and the environment.

The training was attended by 28 representatives of government agencies from:

  • Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan.
  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.
  • Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan.
  • Agencies for Land Reclamation and Irrigation under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
  • Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan.
  • Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.
  • Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.

As part of the training, a discussion platform was organized for participants and a business simulation game was conducted on target study No. 1 «Description of the situation in the water, food, energy sectors and ecosystems of the conditional macro-region of the Salt Lake-Kopsu basin», based on an intersectoral approach to assess the potential of available natural resources and their sustainability in the countries of the lower and upper reaches of the model rivers.

The main methodological material for the training was the teaching manual «Assessment of the relationship of water, energy, food and ecosystem resources in the context of Central Asia».
