Inception working meeting within the opening of the project «Development of the Almaty City Green Space Management Plan and the Almaty Agglomeration Regional Green Corridor Action Plan»

On September 27th a kick-off working meeting was held at Kazakh-German University to discuss the project «Elaboration of the Management plan for green areas of Almaty and the Action plan for the creation of a regional green corridor in the Almaty agglomeration».

The kick-off meeting was attended by the leadership of the city of Almaty and the Almaty region, as well as the administration of the Ile-Alatau State National Park.

The meeting was initiated by the Akimats of Almaty city and Almaty region together with the World Bank.

The executors of the project are the international company MLA+ and the Kazakh-German University.

As a result of the cooperation of all stakeholders and the involvement of experts were developed:

• a management plan for green spaces in Almaty city (including measures to protect them from pests);
• an action plan to create a green corridor for the Almaty agglomeration.
