Excursion to the solar energy laboratory at the DKU Open Day

The event took place in an offline format and complied with hygiene regulations.

The Open Day began with a programme announcement by the moderator, founder of the DKU Ambassadors Club — Temirtas Iskander. After that the president of DKU Ambassador Club Ermakova Maria told about the University and its activities. Then the programme included a presentation of the Centre for pre-university and professional education. The head of the centre Tatyana Kruglik spoke about preparatory courses, and also noted the main points on entering the university and passing the UNT.

The next speaker was Valeria Schaefer, Project Manager of DKU-DAAD in Germany. She shared basic information on academic mobility opportunities and scholarships.

A special feature of the event was that our 3rd year Energy and Environmental Engineering students Sarsenbaev Dauren and Niyazov Diar presented the Solar Energy Lab! They talked about alternative energy sources, the advantages of solar panels and how they work. They then held an online broadcast from the roof of the building where the solar panels were installed and from the classroom, with the energy conversion equipment installed. In addition, the guys held a Kahoot! game for applicants and handed out branded gifts to the winners.

There was also a mock test for applicants to familiarise them with the features of the internal entrance exam. Advice to applicants was provided by:
