DKU staff member graduated from the Women’s Political School of Leadership

The School of Women's Political Leadership, supported by the Alliance of Female Power of Kazakhstan, was held from 5−12 December 2022 in Almaty for future women politicians of Kazakhstan. Zarina Yesbulatova, DKU staff member, Specialist for Translations from the Office of the President of the University, Master of Arts in Translation Studies, was invited as a participant to this event.

According to the Concept of Family and Gender Policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan the share of women in the executive, representative and judicial authorities, public and corporate sectors should be 25% by 2023, and 30% by 2030. However, women currently account for 10 of the 49 deputies in the Senate and 24 per cent in the Majilis.

In order to ensure full and effective participation and equal opportunities for women, the participation of women should be increased to 30% at the decision-making level. To this end, the Alliance of Female Power of Kazakhstan has launched a women's political leadership school. The aim of the Women's Political Leadership School is to make a significant contribution to the development of women's political leadership through training women in management skills and competitiveness, drawing on the experience of leading women politicians of Kazakhstan. Women's political leadership schools have been opened in all regions of Kazakhstan. Almaty is the 10th city where this project was successfully launched.

Zarina Yesbulatova shared her impressions after the training: «In my opinion the School of Women's Political Leadership is a unique social and political project which has been presented in Kazakhstan. The training here allowed me to deepen my knowledge in such areas as «Gender Equality», «Personal Brand», «Women's Way in Politics», «Election Programme: Development and Drafting», etc. The project was supported by the Alliance of Female Power of Kazakhstan and the Association of Business Women of Kazakhstan. In the future, similar projects should be created in order to train qualified personnel. Through this type of training, people gain invaluable experience and knowledge that should be shared with other citizens of our country.

On December 12, 2022 a ceremonial presentation of certificates to all participants of the project took place. Our employee was presented with a certificate of completion of the School by Zauresh Amanzholova, Chairwoman of the Women's Political Club of Almaty, Kazakhstani stateswoman and public figure.

We wish Zarina Yesbulatova success and good luck in her work!
