DKU President visits Goethe-Institut in Almaty

Today, DKU President Prof. Dr. Wolrad Rommel met with Friederike van Stephoudt, director of the Goethe-Institut in Almaty.

As part of the meeting, representatives of the institute gave a tour of their office and explained how classes and other activities take place. Afterwards there was a discussion about expanding cooperation in the field of German language and culture.

It is worth noting that last summer the Kazakh-German University together with the Goethe-Institut in Almaty held a presentation of the eco-book «Tomorrow was late: Environmental Risks in Kazakhstan» and a screening of the feature film «Ecocide» (Germany, 2020, directed by Andres Weiel, 90 min, in German with subtitles in Russian). This year, the organising teams are also actively working on the promotion of this project «Tomorrow was late» and plan to expand the cooperation in other activities.
