Announcement of the position of the rector of the Kazakh-German University

Responsibilities/Tasks:

1. Implementation of the management of scientific and educational-methodological activities of DKU, bearing responsibility for decisions made in functional competences.
2. Representation of DKU in relation to other organizations and public. On the basis of a power of attorney issued by the President of DKU, the rector has the right to sign contracts and make other transactions.
3. Support development of research activities of the Institution.
4. Presents candidates for administrative and research area in DKU for approval by President.
5. Organization of the educational process.
6. Responsible for preparation and submission of documents related to the educational and methodological processes of DKU, for approval by the President of DKU.
7. Responsibility for all issues of educational and methodological activities that are not attributed by the Statute of the DKU to the competence of the President of DKU.
8. Right to sign documents within functional competences.
9. Leads work of the Scientific and Methodological Council of DKU.
10. Leads work of the Academic Council.
11. Ensuring quality and efficiency of educational, scientific and educational work in order to train highly qualified specialists.
12. Approval of teaching plans and additional educational programs in order to improve the quality of training of specialists.

Together with the President of DKU:

13. Determination of goals and strategies for the further development of DKU.
14. Organize work and effective interaction of all structural units, direct their activities to improve the educational and scientific process, taking into account social priorities and the need for specialists in the country's economy.
15. Ensuring the quality and efficiency of educational and scientific work with the aim of training highly qualified specialists, as well as the level of the material and technical base of DKU, taking into account the latest achievements in the development of higher education.
16. Conduct of university management on the basis of the latest achievements in latest techniques and technologies, domestic and foreign experience in education, the use of progressive forms of management and labour organization, reasonable rates of expenditure and rational use of material and technical resources of DKU.
17. Conduct of communication with scientific organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as with related educational institutions, in order to improve the efficiency of training of specialists.
18. Expansion and support of international cooperation in the field of education and science.
19. Taking measures to provide DKU with qualified personnel to conduct regular advanced training of the teaching staff and other categories of employees of the university.
20. Take measures for use and development of professional knowledge and exchange of experience.
21. Responsibility for all issues of financial and economic activities of DKU within functional rights, entrusts conduct of certain areas of the university's activities to other officials — vice-rectors (deputies), heads of structural divisions, as well as functional and administrative divisions.
22. Ensuring the introduction and attraction of innovative education technologies in order to maintain and expand the scope of educational activities of DKU.

Requirements for applicants:

To the position of the Rector is elected an individual who has:

  • Citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • Higher (or postgraduate) education;
  • Availability of an academic degree;
  • Work experience in managerial positions in educational institutions and / or administrative bodies of at least 3 years;
  • Fluency (at least C1) in German and / or English (in addition to Russian and / or Kazakh).

  • Employment contract according to the Labor Code of the RK;
  • Trial period for 6 months;
  • Paid vacation — 30 calendar days;
