A training for civil servants on the topic «NEXUS assessment: interaction of water, energy, food and ecosystem resources» was held in Tashkent.

The training was organized by the Kazakh-German University with the support of the USAID regional project on water resources and the environment.

The training was attended by 24 representatives of government agencies from:

  • Ministry of Energy.
  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • Ministry of Forestry.
  • Ministry of Health.
  • Ministry of Emergency Situations.
  • Leading universities of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

As a result of the training, the participants gained an understanding of the complexity of the assessment of natural resources and studied approaches to sustainable development in a changing climate.

The main methodological material for the training was the teaching manual «Assessment of the relationship of water, energy, food and ecosystem resources in the context of Central Asia».

This project was made possible thanks to the help of the American people provided through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). DKU is responsible for the content of this publication, which does not necessarily reflect the position of USAID or the US Government.
