A round table on forest management and agroforestry will be held at DKU

Forests in cities… Is it possible? For what?

We inform you that on April 28, 2022, a round table will be held in an online format, at which issues of forest management and agroforestry in Kazakhstan will be discussed.

It is estimated that since the 19th century, two thirds of all terrestrial carbon stocks in soils and vegetation have been lost as a result of land degradation (IUCN, 2015). Technological tree planting, where possible, is one of the most efficient and affordable ways of carbon sequestration. This can help to cope with the climate crisis.

Agroforestry, sustainable forest management and afforestation can help mitigate the effects of climate change and improve soil, air and water quality.

Date: April 28, 14:00;

Topic: key issues in the field of forest management and agroforestry in Kazakhstan.

Format: online round table. We invite everyone to take part.
