On October 17, 2026, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, paid a working visit to the Kazakh-German University (DKU).
The Minister was introduced to the university’s profile and its cooperation with universities and research institutions in Kazakhstan and Germany. He toured the university’s laboratories and met with DKU students and staff.
During a working meeting with DKU President, Professor Dr. Wolrad Rommel, discussions focused on further improving the legal framework governing DKU’s activities as an international university, as well as exploring opportunities to expand its infrastructure.
In addition to the DKU President, the meeting was attended by DKU Rector Assel Azhibayeva (PhD), Executive President-Rector of Yessenov University Yermek Talantuly Nurmaganbet (PhD), and Vice-President Askhat Zhilkaidarov (PhD).
The Minister’s visit marked an important milestone in the strategic dialogue on DKU’s potential for further development in science, education, and innovation, as well as opportunities to strengthen its role as a flagship project of Kazakh-German cultural and scientific cooperation.
