If you are a foreign applicant and plan to take a full Bachelor's degree program at DKU, you need to have a minimum level of Russian - B2, as well as English at Pre-Intermediate/Intermediate level. German language skills are not required to study at our university. It is important to fully complete your previous education in order to be able to study at DKU and receive a bachelor's degree.

For admission to DKU foreign applicants need to pass an entrance exam and an oral interview

Mode of operation of the admission office:
Monday through Friday from 09:00 to 18:00(break 13:00-14:00).
Testing takes place in Almaty.
Registration for the admission procedure 7 days before the selected date.
After enrolling in the course, your educational documents must be sent for nostrification. This is a requirement of the legislation of Kazakhstan. Students who have not fulfilled this requirement during the first semester of study are deprived of the right to continue their studies in Kazakhstan.You need to undergo the nostrification procedure yourself by applying to any Service Center in Almaty. 1. School leaving certificate (original)*;
2. Appendix to the document on education (original)*;
3. notarized translation of the education document and its annex into the state or Russian language. The translation shall be carried out:a) by a notary in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan; b) by the bodies of the diplomatic service of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the country where the document was issued;
4. Notarized copy of the document certifying the identity of the owner of the document on education, with translation into the state or Russian language (in case of change of surname - copy of the confirming document, notarized);
5. A copy of the license and/or accreditation certificate of the educational institution that issued the document on education, except for state sample documents on basic secondary, general secondary education, certified by the seal of the educational institution (if necessary with a notarized translation into the state or Russian language);
6. Certificate of DKU student status in Russian (to be requested from the educational department);
7. Payment receipt (payment is made after the documents are checked by the specialists of the Center for Bologna Process and Academic Mobility depending on the country and year of diploma issuance). Once the amount is determined by the Center (minimum amount = 10,256 tenge, maximum = 26,299 tenge, bank transfer ~ 200 tenge), payment should be made to the following details:

8. Completed application for submission of documents (to be filled in when submitting the full package of documents);
9. Plastic binder with a transparent cover.
Documents specified in subparagraphs 1) and 2) of this paragraph issued by educational organizations must be apostilled or legalized.
Upon arrival in Kazakhstan, you need to register your stay in the country at the Migration Police Department within five calendar days. Information on the registration procedure can be found in the "Registration" section.
If you are a citizen of a country with which Kazakhstan has a visa regime, you need a C9 educational visa to study at the Kazakh-German University (hereinafter - DKU).
The list of countries with visa-free regime you can find on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan http://mfa.gov.kz/files/5b48355a5ad58.pdf.
To obtain a visa you need to:
1. study information about the procedure of obtaining a visa on the website of the consular representation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in your country;
2. Fill in the form (Visaform) for the primary study visa;
3. send the following documents to the DKU visa department to the e-mail address visa@dku.kz:
completed form (Visaform);
passport copy;
copy of the agreement between DKU and the foreign educational institution, which stipulates a clause on internships or practicums;
confirmation of hotel reservation in Almaty;
ticket reservation.
We will send you an invitation letter within 15 working days. It will need to be submitted to the Embassy or Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan in your country together with the rest of the visa application documents.
The full list of visa application documents is as follows:
invitation letter from DKU;
a passport with a validity period expiring not earlier than 6 months of the validity period of the requested visa, and having at least 2 blank pages for visa processing;
completed visa application form (can be downloaded on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan or on the website of the embassy or consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan in your country of residence);
a 3.5×4.5 color photo;
agreement between the university and the student/foreign educational institution;
a receipt of consular fee payment;
if necessary, additional documents may be requested.
Visa processing time is 5 working days.
EXTENSION OF MULTIPLE ENTRY VISA FOR EDUCATION (C9)
To extend your visa in the Republic of Kazakhstan before its expiration date you need to submit the following documents to the visa department not later than 14 working days in advance:
a passport with a validity period expiring not earlier than 6 months of the period of validity of the visa requested, and having at least 2 blank pages for visa processing;
a color photo of 3.5×4.5 cm size;
completed visa application form;
a certificate confirming that you are a student of DKU (to be issued by the DKU study department);
consular fee of 30 MRP (payable in tenge).
A foreign student should take care in time:
prolongation of the validity of his/her national passport or its replacement;
to restore the passport in case of its loss;
in case of renewal or replacement of the passport, submit a copy of the passport to the visa department of DKU.

Foreigners arriving in Kazakhstan with a valid Kazakhstani visa of any category issued after July 1, 2018 are considered automatically registered for the period of validity of visas.
All foreign citizens who entered Kazakhstan on valid Kazakhstani visas do not need to fill out migration cards upon arrival in Kazakhstan.
Foreign citizens arriving in Kazakhstan under visa-free regime (applies to citizens of 45 countries listed below), as well as DKU students with a study visa must submit their passports to the visa department on the day of arrival or the next day for further notification of the Migration Service Department of Almaty on their entry:

Climate in Almaty
The climate in Almaty is sharply continental with average temperatures between + 20°... + 40° degrees in summer and + 10°... - 20° in winter.

Russian language in education
During the first two years of the bachelor's degree, the teaching is entirely in Russian. From the third year onwards, lectures and seminars are partly in English and German. The Master's program is taught in Russian and English.
To be able to study at DKU you need to have at least a B2 level of Russian.
Internships or traineeships at our university are open to students of a foreign educational institution that has a corresponding cooperation agreement with DKU. In addition, the applicant must be able to speak German or Russian at least at level B2.
