President of the Kazakh-German University Professor Volrad Rommel made a business trip to Turkestan region, during which he met with the Akim of the region Darhan Satybaldy.
The parties discussed in detail issues related to the opening of the Kazakh-German Agrarian University in Turkestan. This will be the first German institution of higher education in Central Asia, training specialists in the field of agriculture.
Turkestan region is a developed agrarian region, it is also among the leaders of the republic in terms of the number of young people, the opening of the university in the field of agrarian industry is becoming one of the main priorities for the development of the region and the Akimat expressed its readiness to provide the future educational institution with the appropriate infrastructure.
Prof. Volrad Rommel at the meeting told about the development strategy of the Kazakh-German University, about its projects in other regions of Kazakhstan, he also noted the importance of training highly qualified specialists for both Kazakh and German companies.
The new educational institution will first be opened as a branch of the Kazakh-German University (DKU), and later will become a separate university. It is planned to train specialists in agriculture and applied informatics. Professors and associate professors from Germany will also be engaged to train students. Students will have the opportunity to continue their studies in Germany, they will be able to take internships at large production facilities in the sphere of agriculture in Turkestan region and at production facilities in Germany.
