President of the Kazakh-German University Honored with Anniversary Medal of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Professor Wolrad Rommel, President of the Kazakh-German University (DKU), attended a ceremonial event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, Professor Rommel was awarded a commemorative badge marking the 80th anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan in recognition of his contribution to advancing scientific cooperation and strengthening international academic ties.

The Academy's 80th anniversary represents a significant milestone in the history of Kazakhstan's science. It is inextricably linked to the legacy of its founder and first president, the outstanding geologist and academician Kanysh Imantayevich Satpayev, who laid the foundations of the country's national scientific school.

The National Academy of Sciences and the Kazakh-German University share a strategic partnership in science and education. One of the key achievements of this partnership has been the establishment of the German-Kazakh Institute NEXUS in cooperation with the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU). The Institute focuses on advancing interdisciplinary research in sustainable water, land and energy resource management, biodiversity conservation, and climate change adaptation.

The three partner institutions combine their scientific potential, international experience, and research expertise to develop innovative solutions that contribute to the sustainable development of Kazakhstan and Central Asia.

The recognition of Professor Wolrad Rommel represents an important acknowledgment of his contribution to strengthening Kazakh-German scientific partnerships and advancing international academic cooperation.
