On January 18, 2023, six eco-startups were awarded certificates of successful participation in the Kazakhstan ClimAccelerator educational and mentoring program. The two-month program consisted of 7 lectures and 6 mentoring sessions. Three thematic modules (sustainable business, marketing and finance) were conducted with the participation of local, regional and international experts.
2022 participants were eco-business owners from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan on the topics of efficient irrigation water management, solid waste management, eco-hygiene, organic waste recycling, environmental impact assessment and eco-leather products. All of them noted the practicality and broad approach of the Accelerator program.
Recall that the Kazakhstan-German University (DKU) Kazakhstan Climate Accelerator project has been implemented in partnership with EITClimate-KIC since the beginning of 2022. Its goal is to provide mentorship to young eco-entrepreneurs in Central Asia, as well as an opportunity to intensively develop working eco-startups, increase their sustainability and make them attractive to investors.
