On 12 October 2026, the Kazakh-German University (DKU) welcomed an official delegation from its German partner institution, Hof University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Hof). The delegation included Jürgen Lehmann, President of Hochschule Hof, and Susanne Krause, Head of the International Office.
During the meeting at DKU, both sides discussed the current state of their partnership, prospects for further cooperation, and new areas for joint initiatives. Particular attention was given to the development of academic programmes, expanding academic exchanges, strengthening research cooperation, and educating highly qualified professionals in demand on the international labour market.
One of the key topics was the implementation of the double-degree agreement signed last year for the Mechatronics and Computer Science programmes. The participants discussed opportunities to further develop the programmes, exchange academic expertise, and strengthen the practical component of student education.
The following day, the Hochschule Hof delegation, accompanied by DKU President Wolrad Rommel and Vice President for International Cooperation Askhat Zhylkaidarov, visited the Kazakh-German Institute of Sustainable Engineering (KINI) in Aktau. DKU, Yessenov University, and Hochschule Hof are co-founders of the institute.
During the visit, the university representatives learned about the institute’s activities and met with students who presented their projects and practical developments.
The discussions also focused on KINI’s strategic development as a joint Kazakh-German educational initiative, expanding academic cooperation, advancing engineering education, and strengthening links between education, science, and industry.
The visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of DKU and Hochschule Hof to deepening their strategic partnership, developing joint educational and research initiatives, and training highly qualified professionals through Kazakh-German cooperation.
