The German-Kazakh Center for Research Cooperation was established in 2023. The Center is located at the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Center is a small structural unit focused on efficient and effective work and actively involved in the implementation of the Center’s strategic objectives.
The initiative to establish the Center is driven by the intention to create a Central Asian and European research area and to foster an environment for the generation of scientific know-how. Accordingly, the Center aims to create a platform for information exchange on current research issues, to develop and expand scientific cooperation between German and Kazakhstani scientific institutions and researchers, and to promote young scientists. Special attention is given to the contribution of science to the transition toward a circular economy and the sustainable development of society in Central Asia and Europe.
