Course dates: August 1-15, 2024
For whom: for applicants who have no knowledge of German or whose knowledge is below A2 level. The courses are offered on a paid basis on request.
Purpose: According to the Language Concept and the university's curriculum, applicants must have a knowledge of one of the foreign languages at least at the A2 level and it is compulsory to study German and English from the first year. Also from the 3rd year some specialized disciplines are taught by lecturers in German. In this regard, the university has a goal to improve the language skills of applicants, particularly in German.
Foreign languages of the Summer School:
German language (sublevels A1.1, A1.2, A2.1, A2.2) The intensive course of one sub-level of a foreign language covers 56 academic hours (1 academic hour - 40 minutes), 4 academic hours per day (6 days a week). After completing the course, you take a test for the sublevel of the course. If the test is not passed, this sub-level is retaken at the beginning of the academic year.

!!! Important: Studying a foreign language within the framework of the Summer School is carried out on a paid basis. After passing each sublevel, the Course Participant takes a test for the sublevel. In case the Student has not passed/learned this sublevel, he/she repeats it. Registration for the Summer School is carried out until July 28, 2024 inclusive. To do so, please email: admission@dku.kz and kruglik@dku.kz. Groups must have at least 5 people. In case the group will be less than 5 people, the group for this sub-level will not open. Applicants who have any knowledge of foreign language before the start of the course are tested for the sub-level, if the declared sub-level is not confirmed, he/she will be enrolled in the group below the declared sub-level. All those who have registered for the Summer School (i.e. sent an email to the email addresses indicated in point 3) will be informed about the group enrollment and the format of the classes on July 29-30, 2024. After completing a repeat of the foreign language course within the Summer School, a certificate of the completed sub-level of the course will be issued.
