DKU is pleased to invite you to our next DKU Talk on «One year of the Biden presidency: What does it mean for the US, the EU and the rest of the world?"

During Biden’s first year of presidency US faced global pandemic, rejoined Paris climate agreement and WHO, restarted talks with Iran on its nuclear program.

• Is America back on its track as a leading democracy?
• How the foreign policy of US changed during global pandemic, following economic crisis and ongoing climate crisis?
• What EU, Central Asia and the rest of the world can expect in the next years of Biden Presidency?

This and other issues regarding US policy with the new administration will be discussed at next DKU Talk with our speakers:

Siebo M. H. Janssen is born in 1969 in Cologne, since 2004 he is living in Bonn. Janssen studied Political Science, Modern History, International Public Law and Political Philosophy. Janssen works and worked on different Universities in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Russia as lecturer. He is an expert in European and International Politics, constitutional history of Germany and the USA, the political systems of the BeNeLux-countries as well as the USA and is dealing with questions of the EU perspectives of the Western Balkan countries.

Ilya Levine is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG). He completed a Master’s in international politics (2009) and a PhD (2013) at the University of Melbourne, Australia. His PhD thesis examined the relationships between US foreign policy interests in Central Asia. It was published by Routledge in 2016 as US Policies in Central Asia: Democracy, Energy, and the War on Terror. He teaches undergraduate courses about international relations, global political economy, Russian foreign policy, and Central Asian politics.
